Add a custom MCP connector safely

Confirm the server and policy

Verify ownership, endpoint, authentication, available tools, data handling, and whether your organization permits custom MCP.

Open the custom MCP form

Go to Settings, Connectors, then Add a custom MCP server and choose hosted HTTPS.

Add the name and HTTPS endpoint

Enter a clear server name and its hosted MCP URL; local commands and filesystem paths belong in a desktop MCP client.

Verify and limit access

Confirm connection status, inspect available capabilities, and test with non-sensitive data first.

Use the composer plus menu, choose Connectors, select the MCP server, and confirm its connector chip.
