Settings, preferences and your account

Find settings on desktop and phone, manage notifications, AI preferences, memory, billing, plan usage and account security.

Updated 26 Oct 2026

Open the settings for your device

On desktop web and the Windows wrapper, open your avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar and choose Settings. Expand the sidebar first if it is collapsed. On a phone, open the navigation sidebar from the chat header, open your profile menu and choose Settings. In the phone settings screen, use Settings menu in the header to reveal the section list when it is hidden. Desktop screenshots and bottom-left instructions describe the desktop layout; they are not directions to a control permanently visible on the phone. In Oppermind Desktop, the same account menu also has Show Lato on desktop, which flips the same switch as Show Lato on the desktop in Desktop settings.

Settings on desktop: sections down the left, the open one on the right.
Try this
✦On desktop, click your avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Settings, then Apps and extensions.
What you getSettings opens on Apps and extensions, with the other sections listed down the left.

Choose notifications and verify the save

Open Notifications. On desktop, use the event-by-channel table to choose which alerts arrive in the app or by email. Adjust Email digest schedule and Play sound on notification if needed, then use the save control and check its result. Use Test for an event if you want to check delivery; it can send an actual notification. On your phone, use the notification options shown in its settings section. Native push delivery also depends on the notification permission in iOS or Android settings. Reopen the section to confirm a saved choice; a checked box alone does not prove a successful save.

Lato can open Notifications and point to the controls; the choices stay yours.
Try this
✦Open Settings, Notifications, untick email for an event you only want in the app, save, then reopen the section.
What you getThe box is still unticked when you reopen Notifications, which confirms the save.

Review AI preferences and memory

Open AI preferences to read Saved AI Preferences: each entry shows its label, category and whether it was AI detected or Explicit, with a confidence indicator. Remove preference (the trash icon) removes one entry, and Reset All removes every saved style preference after you confirm; Lato then learns your style again. Memory is separate: Long-term memory controls remembering facts across conversations, and on desktop you can search the categories and use Add category, Import, Export or Generate from chats. Review the entries before using Forget everything, which permanently removes remembered information. Neither section sets the chat mode or reasoning effort, which you choose in the composer, and a Skill or Brand Kit is attached from + in the chat.

Chat mode and effort are chosen in the composer, not in AI preferences or Memory.
Try this
✦Open Settings, AI preferences, and remove an entry you no longer want with its trash icon.
What you getThe entry disappears once the request succeeds; your memory, chat mode and effort stay as they were.

Change appearance on desktop or phone

Open Appearance to choose Light, Dark or System and the available font, size, density and accessibility options. System follows your device appearance. Check the preview and save where the screen requires it. Some changes may preview immediately before they are saved. The floating prompt-formatting menu follows the desktop theme; the phone composer has a different layout and does not have that desktop selection menu.

Ask Lato to open the right section on the device you are using.
Try this
✦Open Settings, Appearance, choose Dark, check the preview and save.
What you getThe workspace switches to the dark theme; choose System instead if you want it to follow your device.

Review your plan, billing and usage

On desktop, open Plan & billing; on a phone, open Subscription from the Settings menu, and read the current plan and subscription status first. On desktop, Manage subscription opens the payment-provider portal, Payment methods and Invoices show your records with Download where an invoice has a link, and Cancel via Stripe opens a separate cancellation flow that explains access to the end of the billing period. If you already pay for a plan, upgrading moves your current plan up: you see the amount first, pay the difference for the rest of this billing period, then the new monthly price. Usage shows how much of your plan you have used as a percentage; chats and longer tasks use little of it, image and video generation use more, and images and videos come out of your monthly usage rather than a set number per day. Pro has three times the usage of Starter and Pro Plus twice the usage of Pro, and if you reach the limit while Lato is working, it finishes that answer first. On iOS or Android, billing options depend on where you subscribed, and deleting an Oppermind account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.

Settings open on Usage, showing plan usage as a percentage.
Usage is shown as a share of your plan, so you can see how much is left at a glance.
Try this
✦Open Settings, then Usage.
What you getUsage shows how much of your plan you have used as a percentage; image and video generation move it more than chats do.

Manage profile, security and account access

Open Profile to update the personal details offered on that device and use its Save control. Open Security to review sign-in information, two-factor authentication and recent security events. Desktop email changes are in Security; the phone screen directs you there. Devices & sessions lists account access separately: review the selected device before using its sign-out control. Delete account is in Security on desktop and phone. Read its permanent-deletion warning and complete the confirmation yourself. Verification codes, account-deletion confirmations and permission decisions stay with you. Lato can open a screen and point out a control, but does not supply those decisions.

In Oppermind Desktop, logging out asks first and says what it keeps.
Try this
✦Open Settings, Devices & sessions, and read the list before you sign anything out.
What you getEach signed-in device is listed; you choose which one to sign out and confirm it yourself.

Review privacy, export data and find legal policies

Open Privacy. Review Conversation retention, Save chat history and the other data-use controls shown on your device. Read each control’s explanation before changing it, then save and confirm the result. Use the data-download or export control shown in Your data to request an export; keep the resulting file private. Open Legal Hub from this section for current terms and policies. Account deletion is a separate Security action, and removing a style preference is separate from forgetting memory or deleting your account.

Lato can point to the control; the export request stays your choice.
Try this
✦Open Settings, Privacy, read Conversation retention, then use the export control under Your data.
What you getYour export request is made; keep the file you receive private.

Ask for a guided settings demonstration

Ask “Open Notifications settings and show me where to change my alerts” or “Show me how to add a Brand Kit on this phone.” Lato can inspect the current app, open a supported section and highlight the next step after an explicit interactive request. Keep the conversation visible. If it needs a native file picker or a protected confirmation, you finish that step yourself. See the App-control demonstrations guide for screenshots, stopping and recovery.

A guided demonstration stops at the steps that stay with you.
Try this
✦Show me how to add a Brand Kit on this phone.
What you getLato opens the right settings screen and highlights the upload area; you choose the files and save the kit yourself.
